About Activate Global

Activate empowers scientists and engineers to reinvent our world by bringing their research to market. We partner with leading funders and research institutions to offer the Activate Fellowship, providing the funding, community, mentorship, network, and time that scientists need to become entrepreneurs.

The results are game changing: Activate Fellows have launched 196 new companies since 2015. These companies have raised $3.5B in follow-on funding, created more than 2,800 U.S.-based jobs, and defined several new market categories. Activate supports fellows in Berkeley, CA; Cambridge, MA; New York, NY; Houston, TX; and across the U.S. through Activate Anywhere.

Activate exists to create a better future for all. In service of this purpose, we center equity and inclusivity in all aspects of our work.

This position supports the growth and engagement of Activate’s core fellowship program. Ensuring the smooth execution of educational offerings, analyzing fellows' learning experiences, creating learner-centered online resources, and keeping staff updated on fellows' progress are crucial for the sustainable growth of our program. The Digital Learning Intern will be pivotal in achieving these objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support building online resources, user guides, and tutorials in our learning management system (LMS)
  • Provide day-to-day support to the education team.

The Ideal Candidate…

  • Has a Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, communications, information systems, or a related field.
  • Is detail-oriented and has strong organization and analytical skills, including experience in data and database management, analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Has strong communication skills to ensure cross-functional clarity on the resources, content, and setup of our learning programs
  • Has familiarity with learning management systems
  • Prioritizes learner experience, and focuses on ensuring that systems support a seamless user journey
  • Is tech-savvy and able to train individuals with varying skill levels on how to use technology.
  • Enjoys independent work and can complete tasks autonomously.
  • (nice to have) Is interested in innovation, clean energy, and other climate technology sectors (or is willing to learn).

About the Role

This position is full-time (40 hours), paid, and U.S.-based. The preferred start date is June 2nd, 2025, with an end date of Oct 17, 2025. Preferably, candidates will be based in the Bay Area (CA), Boston (MA), New York (NY), or Houston (TX). However, candidates may work remotely from one of Activate’s operating states. This position will report to staff within the Fellowships team.
