Position summary
Anthology is Boston-based, venture-backed genome design company. We engineer fungi through advanced genetics, microfluidics, and AI to biomanufacture functional proteins at 5-10× lower cost compared to extracting these proteins from their natural sources. Our goal is to build a climate-resilient protein supply chain for human and animal health. Backed by leading deep-tech investors, we have partnered with global nutrition and ingredient manufacturers to bring cost-effective proteins to market.
Position summary
We’re seeking a Commercialization Advisor to help translate our technology into global market traction. This advisor will play a key role in guiding go-to-market strategy, pricing, product positioning, and partnership development across the animal nutrition, human nutrition, and specialty ingredient sectors. This is a strategic advisory position for a senior commercial leader or industry veteran who have led the development and commercialization of novel ingredient products, especially in the functional animal nutrition sector (functional nutrition, milk replacer etc.).
Responsibilities
Advise on commercial strategy and market entry for lead protein products.
Support valuation, pricing, and economic modeling for feed, food, and specialty ingredient markets.
Introduce potential industry partners, customers, and distributors across feed and food ecosystems.
Provide guidance on channel strategy, customer segmentation, and partnership structures (joint development, supply and licensing).
Offer input on regulatory positioning and product registration in the US and EU. Mentor internal team on commercial readiness, customer discovery, and contract negotiation.
Ideal Profile
10+ years of leadership experience in sales, business development, or operations within relevant industry.
Deep understanding of B2B ingredient commercialization and the dynamics of scaling new bio-based products.
Proven record of closing supply and joint development partnerships with large integrator companies, CPGs, nutritional companies and manufacturers.
Ability to balance scientific depth with business pragmatism.
Experience with growth-stage startups preferred.
Compensation
Retainer-based, depending on engagement. Equity.
