About the role

We’re excited to bring in someone to help our Sales team on the top-of-funnel pipeline. A highly-motivated, resilient BD Representative will have a great impact on sales growth. Your job will be reaching out to prospective customers using provided scripts, offering insights and helping to shape our approach, and getting increasingly involved in developing our target list. This is an on site, full time, three-month temp role to start, where a successful hire may be brought on for a long term role.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience with outbound prospecting, including:
    • An understanding of how to research a prospect.
    • Experience evaluating a prospect’s fit for a particular product and service.
    • Tailoring outreach based on a prospect’s specific context.
  • Experience with Sales Sequencing Software (eg. Salesloft, Outreach.io, Apollo, Lusha, Clay, Groove, Instantly, Mailchimp) is a plus. Ability to learn and effectively use Apollo is essential.
  • Fantastic oral and written communication skills. This includes great listening, understanding of potential customers, and soft skills to contribute meaningfully to sales while representing the values and voice of the company.
  • Ability to test effectiveness of scripts and outbound prospecting strategies and provide helpful feedback for improvement.
  • Experience working in a team environment and achieving success. The ideal candidate will have experience sharing a goal with a team, understanding their role in the group’s shared success, and working in close partnership with other teammates.
  • Proven ability to think on your feet and remain calm under pressure: The BD Rep will often need to adapt a script on the fly, overcome objections, and be adaptable throughout a process where no two calls will be the same. This can be demonstrated through a variety of different experiences: customer service, negotiation, direct outbound, door knocking.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: This is a role that involves a lot of rejection or a lot of work for delayed payoff (100+ dials for 1 answer, maybe 5 answers for a positive response). We need someone who’s disciplined, believes in their process, and is ready to adapt on the fly. Optimism and enthusiasm are key.

Compensation

For this Business Development Representative role, the On-Target Earnings (OTE) range is $6,600 – $7,900 per month, with base salary representing approximately 75% of total compensation and the remaining 25% tied to variable pay. Actual base pay will depend on factors such as skills and experience. Variable pay is earned through the achievement of performance goals and is paid monthly.

In addition to compensation, this position includes benefits and, if converted to a permanent hire, will also include equity with a vesting start date backdated to your start date for the temp role.
