This is a full-time, on-site role in Berkeley, CA. As a Founding R&D Engineer, you’ll join our core technical team and lead development of our electrochemical systems for next-generation lithium extraction. You’ll play a key role in scaling EELI’s breakthrough technology from lab-scale to pilot deployment and help shape the future of lithium supply.What you’ll do:- Design, build, and optimize electrochemical systems for lithium recovery- Lead bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments, analyze results, and iterate rapidly- Collaborate cross-functionally to scale novel technologies from lab to field- Help shape the technical culture and direction of an early-stage climate-tech startupQualifications:- PhD/MS + 3+ years OR BS + 8+ years of relevant experience in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering, or related fields- Strong hands-on experience with electrochemical cells, materials, and analytical tools (e.g., CV, EIS, galvanostatic techniques)- Creative problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, iterative environments- Bonus: Experience in battery R&D, DLE, water treatment, or membrane systemsApply by emailing your resume to contact@eeli.tech.
