By eliminating chemical reagents and slashing operating costs, we're unlocking untapped domestic lithium to power a sustainable future.We’re hiring a Founding R&D Engineer with a strong background in electrochemistry and electrochemical systems engineering to join our core technical team.What you’ll do?- Design, build, and optimize electrochemical systems for lithium recovery- Lead bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments, analyze results, and iterate rapidly- Collaborate cross-functionally to scale novel technologies from lab to field- Help shape the technical culture and direction of an early-stage climate-tech startupQualifications- PhD/MS + 3+ years OR BS + 8+ years of relevant experience in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering, or related fields- Strong hands-on experience with electrochemical cells, materials, and analytical tools (e.g., CV, EIS, galvanostatic techniques)- Creative problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, iterative environments- Bonus: Experience in battery R&D, DLE, water treatment, or membrane systemsAbout The RoleThis is a full-time, on-site role in Berkeley, CA.
