About Pulsenics

Pulsenics is catalyzing novel breakthroughs for electrochemical technologies that decarbonize our planet. Pulsenics’ innovation is the first to apply advanced spectroscopy techniques to industrial electrochemical applications, at scale, to target the industry’s energy waste problem. Our mission is to change how the industry, making up 15% of the world’s GDP, uses its energy.

“Pulsenics” means “Pulse Generation.”

True to its name, our proprietary hardware injects non-disruptive electrical pulses into an

electrochemical system to extract a unique signature for its State-of-Health. When combined with our Data Management Software, this untapped data unlocks fundamental insights that lead to the most energy efficient operations, at scale.

Pulsenics hardware and software is currently being used by customers around the world to improve electrochemical system design and performance. Pulsenics’ customers run diverse electrochemical systems ranging from fuel cells and batteries to wastewater treatment and metallurgy.

At Pulsenics, you will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on the development of our next generation hardware and software products, alongside our world-class team of innovators and engineers!

  • Lead the hardware development of 10kW to 100kW converters, inverters, battery chargers, and variable frequency drives from conceptualization, simulation, hardware design, control development and testing.
  • Provide guidance and review of PCB and system level design to ensure high performance of the power electronics systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing with MOSFETS, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices.
  • Work independently on small projects or as part of a large multi-discipline team on larger projects, including working with both in-house inter-discipline engineers and partners to provide our clients the highest quality service and products.
  • Design, model, and simulate control and power circuits using simulation tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, Tina, Plecs.
  • Develop and execute design verification testing, design evaluation, design margins, FMEA, and analysis of product performance to meet electrical specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and build prototypes to validate design concepts. Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure the robustness and reliability of power electronics systems.
  • Perform design revisions and updates on new and existing products and work with contract manufacturers to ensure reliable and cost-effective production.
  • Work closely with other cross-functional engineering teams including mechanical, software, and firmware to support the design and development of the complete solution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in power electronics design and control.
  • Solid understanding of analog circuitry, SMPS, ADCs/DACs, microprocessors, FPGAs & DSPs.
  • Experience with STM32 processor families.
  • Experience with battery characteristics/spectroscopy is highly preferable.
  • Experience with EV/High Power applications is highly preferable.
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including international travel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to document work.
