Resonant Link Medical is pioneering the future of wireless power and data transfer for medical devices that go on or inside the body to help people get well and stay well. We’re committed to revolutionizing patient care by delivering high-performance, reliable, and convenient wireless charging solutions that eliminate the burden of frequent surgeries to replace batteries, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall healthcare experience. We’ve designed our first-of-its-kind wireless charging into more than 50 different types of medical devices and support customers around the world from our offices and employee hubs in Burlington, Vermont; Zurich, Switzerland; Boston, Massachusetts; and San Francisco, California.

As our Power Electronics Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, developing, executing, and documenting rigorous verification and validation processes for our advanced wireless charging systems. Leveraging your background in electrical engineering and close attention to detail, you'll work closely with our engineering team to build magnetic and power electronics assemblies, validate key sub-system and system level performance metrics, interface with third-party facilities for EMC and other regulatory testing, and ensure high-quality performance in our lab. Your contributions will ensure the reliability, safety, and high-performance of our implantable-grade medical device power systems, and will help us maintain efficiency and productivity as we grow.

We’re committed to building a collaborative engineering culture that spans disciplines and geographies. To help us deliver on our mission, we’re looking for detail-oriented problem solvers and empathetic team players who are passionate about working at the intersection of innovation and medical technology. If you thrive in high-impact, hands-on environments and enjoy developing, refining, and executing rigorous testing processes, this is the role for you!

On an average day, you’ll…

  • Develop and Execute Comprehensive Test Plans: Conceptualize, design, and implement test setups for first-article bring-up, end-of-line tests, subsystem validation, and full system validation.
  • Assemble Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) Systems: Build magnetic components, integrate them into full WPT assemblies, and ensure system performance.
  • Validate Wireless Power Systems: Test and validate key performance metrics of wireless power transfer systems, including PCB performance (DC/DC converters, inverters), safety mechanisms, firmware capabilities, and user interface interactions.
  • Coordinate and Conduct Testing: Prepare for, conduct, and manage testing both in-house and with third-party testing facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and refine product designs. Testing includes EMC, EMI, phantom tissue testing, and failure analysis, among others.
  • PCB and Electronics Validation: Lead efforts in PCB validation, performance characterization, troubleshooting, and optimizing electronic components and assemblies.
  • End-of-Line Test Development: Develop and refine production testing processes and procedures to ensure product reliability and repeatability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Coordinate, prepare, and review comprehensive test reports, technical documentation, and validation summaries to support product development milestones, regulatory submissions, and continuous process improvements.
  • Manage Lab Operations: Maintain an organized and efficient lab space for our employee hubs in Burlington, Vermont; Zurich, Switzerland; Boston, Massachusetts; and San Francisco, California; ensuring inventory availability, and readiness of hardware for shipment.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in test engineering practices.
  • Master New Tools and Techniques: Operate specialized lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, thermal cameras, and data acquisition systems, and identify and learn how to use new tools that enhance our assembly, testing, and validation capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise with PCB testing, troubleshooting, and measurement tools - experience validating DC/DC converters, inverters, and other critical electronic components.
  • Proven experience conceptualizing, designing, and executing electrical test setups for power electronics systems.
  • Proficiency in soldering, PCB rework, and hands-on assembly.
  • Ability to read schematics and operate power electronic systems safely.
  • Experience coordinating with external test facilities and conducting EMI/EMC testing.
  • Proficiency in firmware validation and utilizing test software.
