At the core of SiTration’s approach is a patented filtration membrane technology developed at MIT combining extreme chemical and physical durability with electronic conductivity. This novel solution aims to transition resource-intensive chemical and thermal separations to an ultra-efficient electrified approach.
Founded out of MIT in 2020, SiTration’s R&D operations are located in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, MA. This position requires a full-time in-person commitment.

Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain analytical equipment, including lab-related calibration, preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
- Perform and report routine and complex laboratory analysis
- Develop and validate new protocols for the analysis of novel and complex feed streams and materials
- Provide leadership for day-to-day operations of the laboratory
- Manage procurement and maintenance of supplies, chemicals, and other necessary inventory
- Mentor junior members providing guidance, reviewing and checking work
- Act as point of contact for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), working with external contractors and vendors
- Research and develop new protocols to ensure safe handling of new streams and materials
Desired experience and skills:
- Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience or B.S./M.S. with 5+ years of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with relevant experience in analytical instrumentation
- 5+ years of wet lab experience
- 3+ years of experience with Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) required; Agilent-specific systems experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Microwave digestion systems a strong plus
- Experience with physical or chemical vapor deposition a plus
- Must be familiar with the operation and maintenance of standard lab equipment
- Knowledge of EH&S regulations and requirements for laboratory safety, including methods for handling, cleaning, and disposal of waste
- Comfortable working with Microsoft office and google applications (e.g., word, excel, powerpoint and their equivalents) for data management and processing
- Excellent scientific and technical communication skills
