SiTration is seeking a Head of Business Development to join our team and drive adoption of our groundbreaking technology. This role will work alongside the CEO and VP of Strategy & Operations to execute a revenue strategy and secure customers and partners. This is a unique opportunity to join SiTration at its early growth phase and work with corporates, investors, and startups leading the critical minerals revolution.
SiTration is a rapidly-growing team of creative, passionate, and deeply-technical scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs working to develop a low-cost, sustainable approach for harvesting critical minerals for an electrified future. At the core of SiTration’s approach is a patented silicon filtration and extraction technology developed at MIT. This novel solution aims to transition resource-intensive chemical and thermal separations to an ultra-efficient electrified approach.
Founded out of MIT in 2020, SiTration’s operations are located in Watertown, MA. We are open to candidates seeking in-person, hybrid, or fully-remote positions. This position will require domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities will include:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for our technology across the mining and metals sector. Lead market research and analysis to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to drive adoption of our technology from piloting through commercial deployments. Create commercial decks and proposals and present to potential customers and partners.
- Work closely with the leadership team to develop innovative business models and pricing structures that align with market needs and company goals.
- Support negotiations and structuring of commercial deals for pilot and FOAK equipment deployments.
- Collaborate with the engineering, product, and R&D teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and product development. Provide feedback to inform product roadmaps based on customer and market insights.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and other events.
Desired experience and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, commercialization, or innovation at a mining company, a mining equipment provider, or in a related industry.
- Experience navigating complex and long sales cycles and selling to senior decision-makers, preferably in mining or industrials. Experience completing RFPs and navigating corporate contracting processes preferred.
- Experience in developing and optimizing business models and go-to-market plans for new technologies or systems.
- Experience with or exposure to structuring and negotiating large commercial deals.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive positioning. Ability to think strategically and implement business development initiatives that align with company goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.
