About Teragen Energy

Teragen Energy Corporation (“Teragen Energy”) is revolutionizing how AI data centers and broader industries get powered, by building the next generation solid oxide fuel cell platform. Rooted in the technology developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and validated by ARPA-E, our mission is to deliver affordable, reliable, clean fuel cell power where it is needed the most to enable power security and flexibility for customers. Founded by technologists, scientists, and energy project developers, we are a fast-paced deep-tech company moving from lab-scale prototypes towards commercial module design - ideal stage for your work to directly shape how power is generated in 21st century, towards terawatt-hour scale.

This Role

We are hiring an Electrochemical Test Engineer to ensure the data driving Teragen's discissions are data driven. This role will design test protocols, run and oversee testing across cells and stacks, and turn results into analysis the team can act on. Initial focus areas include performance validation, reliability testing, and the translation of data to milestone-linked test evidence. You will report directly to the CTO and work with the existing Cell and Mechanical Engineering across the full cell & stack testing.

What You’ll Do

  • Design & execute test protocols and specifications for SOFC cell and stack level validation, including performance testing, thermal cycling, dynamic load, durability, and performance testing.

  • Analyze results and convert them into clear documentation, decisions, and communicate recommended next steps.

  • Contribute test-based evidence to shared boundary problems, including whether a result is driven by materials, geometry, assembly, thermal gradients, or operating conditions.

  • Design and implement versioning and tracking system for test procedures to build repeatable test practices that improve confidence, comparability, and traceability.

How We Work

Decisions here are driven by data, not seniority or consensus. We run minimal process and maximum communication. You will be trusted to work autonomously while keeping your work visible, documented, and impactful to the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • BS or MS degree in chemical engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering or related field, with 3-6 years of experience in test engineering, electrochemical testing, high-temperature testing, or a related field. Direct experience with SOFC or SOEC highly desirable. Exceptional candidates at any level are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong grounding in test design and data analysis, including comfort defining what data is needed to resolve a technical question.

  • Experience with electrochemical, fuel cell, battery, gas-flow, or high-temperature test methods is desirable.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidate must have the ability to clearly and rigorously document results and to communicate uncertainty honestly.

  • Test infrastructure build experience is helpful but not required; the Mechanical Engineer will support the hardware side so this role can stay focused on test design, data quality, analysis, and reporting.

  • Simulation or modeling experience, such as MATLAB, Simulink or Python, is helpful but not required.

The data generated in this role will not simply be reported; it will be acted on. As the team grows, so will this role's influence over what Teragen tests, learns, and builds next.

Compensation Package

  • Base Salary

  • Competitive Employee Equity Grant

  • 100% coverage for healthcare insurance for employees

  • Unlimited time off program

  • Eligibility for 401(k) plan

Teragen Core Values
