In this role, you will have an impact on Twelve’s mission to lead the way to a fossil free future through carbon transformation. Your responsibilities will include executing new processes with a collaborative fabrication team that offers honest feedback. You will be an integral part of Twelve’s development of CO2 conversion processes. In this role you will be working in a fluid startup environment with cross-functional teams while reporting to the Pilot Production Manager.

You will make an impact by increasing capacity output while achieving scalable production objectives. You will be manufacturing membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for Twelve’s electrochemical CO2 reduction process. This role includes working with team members to provide quality MEAs for testing at different scales. We are seeking a collaborative technician with lab or manufacturing environment experience who is excited about Twelve’s mission.

This is an on-site role in Alameda, California.

What you will do

  • Routinely manufacture Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs) while following product specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a cleanroom environment.

  • Routinely measure quality of solutions by sampling and running tests on analytical lab equipment.

  • Formulate coating solutions for daily fabrication, including precisely weighing, measuring and mixing wet and dry ingredients.

  • Operate liquid processing equipment such as mills, mixers, sonicators or high pressure systems.

  • Operate complex technical tools/equipment to prepare and coat solutions onto substrates.

  • Operate material processing equipment such as die cutters and hydraulic presses on a regular basis.

  • Perform routine visual and semi-automated inspections for quality control purposes.

  • Maintain accurate production batch records and good documentation practices.

  • Track production, quality and inventory data accurately.

  • Communicate technical information (verbal and written) to the team as needed.

  • Collaborate with team members on the status of samples and the fabrication system.

  • Adhere to applicable safety and security procedures for lab and pilot work.

  • Troubleshoot production equipment and hardware.

  • Actively participate in cross-training as needed; learn new skills as required due to technological advances.

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and new product/process introduction into pilot manufacturing.

  • Participate in documentation, systems and tooling updates and change management as needed.

Who you are

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.

  • You are familiar with manufacturing control methodologies such as 5S, Kanban, inventory management and have a strong eye for continuous improvement.

  • You are familiar with manufacturing systems such as LIMS, PLM, ERP or MES and have a strong understanding of material and inventory management.

  • You are able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • You are an effective communicator, love working with teams, and have a demonstrated track record of following directions or standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • You have outstanding operational discipline, organizational and document management skills.

  • You have excellent computer literacy, expertise with Microsoft Office Tools and a high level of intellectual curiosity.

At Twelve, it's important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements, Twelve conducts exhaustive research to understand compensation markets. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.

United States Wage Range: $38.00/hr - $56.00/hr (annualized at $78,208 - $116,480)

Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidate's diverse sets of skill levels.
